Thank you for electing me as your trustee on the Hayward Unified School District Board of Education.

I would like to thank everyone who supported me during the campaign, offering me support that included donations, distributing fliers and making phone calls. And I want to thank everyone I met on the campaign trail. I am excited about the next two years and am ready to get to work for our children and youth.

The overwhelming success of Measure I is a clear indication to me that Hayward residents value their children and the future of their schools. I want to ensure that Measure I funds are spent on what voters intended: improve safety and learning by providing up-to-date classrooms, wireless technology and access to individuals with disabilities.

My other priorities are to:

• Build respect for the HUSD
• Build pride in our schools
• Work to decrease the drop-out rate
• Ensure textbooks are available for each and every student
